Bubble Tea

  • 1/4 cup tapioca balls with sweetened syrup (usually in brown or red).
  • 1 tbsp Condensed milk (preferably Longevity Brand). (or to taste)
  • Chinese tea, such as Oolong or Black, or Japanese Green Tea. Coffee may be substitued
  • 3 tsp sugar.
  • Boiling pot of water.

Pour tapioca balls into a strainer so that all the syrup separates from the tapioca balls. Place balls in boiling water. Add 3 teaspoons of sugar (so that the tapioca balls have a softer yet chewier texture). Let boil for about 5 minutes. Decrease heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
Then drain and rinse in cold water using the strainer. Pour condensed milk into a 12oz. glass. (Refrigerate unused condensed milk after opening.) Add about tea. Mix until the condensed milk has fully dissolved into the tea. Finally, add the tapioca balls.
